Subject: Official Flood Stages Established at Norwich, NY on the
         Canasawacta Creek.

Effective Monday, November 2, 2026, the National Weather Service
(NWS) Forecast Office in Binghamton, New York, will establish
Action, Minor, Moderate, and Major flood categories for the
Canasawacta Creek at Norwich, NY (CCKN6). The Action stage will
serve as an early awareness threshold for emergency planners and
first responders.

These stages were established following a comprehensive
hydrologic analysis of the basin, conducted in close coordination
with the City of Norwich Emergency Management Office. Formalizing
these flood thresholds will enhance local flood monitoring and
improve risk communication for the City of Norwich and adjacent

The newly established flood stages are defined as follows:

Action: 7.0 feet
Minor: 8.0 feet
Moderate: 10.0 feet
Major: 11.5 feet
